UP to no good!!

Just as other children Tommy's age are beginning to walk, Tommy is learning to use his legs in a new, exciting, and exhausting (for me) way--CLIMBING! What can he climb? Just about anything these days. He has figured out how to climb onto Maggie's rocking chair and rock on it while standing. He's also attempted climing on the arms of the rocking chair. He used the chair as a stepping stool the other day. He moved it over to the couch, climbed on it, climbed onto the couch, and jumped (headfirst) off of the couch laughing as he fell.

I was washing the dishes the other day and went into the living room to check on the little dears. I glanced at Tommy who was behind the chair and thought "When did he get so tall?" He moved the stepstool from the kitchen to the window behind our recliner and was standing on it when I checked them. A few minutes later he moved the stool across the room to the door. Looks like he was checking for mail.

Then there was the dreaded day this week when he figured out how to weasel his way through the contraption at the bottom of the stairs (we can't get a gate to fit) and proceeded to get a bloody nose. Later that day he also got a black eye when his sister gave him a push. His eye caught the corner of their little table as he fell down.

I'm hoping to make it to his third birthday without broken bones or stitches.
