Maggie loves to dance, especially with her totally gyratious dad. She'll grab daddy by the hand and go "dance dance dance." Daddy will then turn on the CD player, and both Mags and Daddy march around the room with the Notre Dame Fight Song blaring in the foreground.
Recently, Mommy taught Maggie the "Chicken Nugget Dance." (This was more out of necessity than anything, as Maggie gets quite hornery when she's hungry and its hard to distract her from excessive wailing while the food is being prepared.) Now, when Mommy says that they'll be eating chicken nuggets for lunch, Maggie will intone "chicken chicken nuggets! chicken nuggets!" as she wildly jesticulates with her arms, sometimes spinning in circles.
Today at the park, however, the chicken nugget dance was taken to a whole new level. Some local villagers were enjoying a nice McDonald's(TM) picnic lunch. When they left, they left some of their lunch's packaging behind ($%#*$$& litterers!!). Maggie had not been paying any attention to the litterers' lunch, but after they left Maggie seized one of the empty, discarded chicken-nugget boxes and immediately broke into her chicken nugget dance: "Chicken chicken nuggets! Chicken nuggets! Ketch-UP! Chicken nuggets!" sang Maggie as she moved her arms back and forth over her head. Here's the amazing part about this: Maggie has NEVER had McDonald's(TM) chicken nuggets (or any fastfood chicken nuggets, for that matter)! The only chicken nuggets she has had are the frozen store-bought variety. Yet she still knew an empty chicken nuggets container when she saw one. Amazing!
